Bill Murray Jumps Out of Cake on Late Show

Bill Murray’s last appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman was a memorable one.

[dropcap size=small]B[/dropcap]ill Murray was David Letterman’s first guest on Late Night when he was on NBC in 1982 and also his first guest when he moved to CBS for Late Show in 1993. Being one of Letterman’s most popular regulars to be on the show, it is only fitting to cap off his last appearance in grandiose, Murray-like fashion. So he jumped out of a cake.

Murray jumped out of the cake, went and gave Letterman a big, cake filled hug, and then proceeded to walk through the audience to say hello and throw cake at them. Murray then started a “more, more, more!” chant with the audience to try and convince Letterman to stay a few for decades.

“I don’t think my place is here trying to crowbar you into staying for another 30 years, I don’t think I should do that,” Murray said. “I think this is really something that is up to the American people to do, and I’m just going to be one person to try to organize this. If you’ll excuse me.” After saying this, Murray ran out of the studio and gathered a crowd of people to help him chant, “All we are saying is more Worldwide Pants!”

In all, it was a beautifully fitting last appearance from one of the best guests to ever appear on Late Show.
