Sorry P.T. fans, it looks like you’ll have to wait for another Silent Hill-style game.

[dropcap size=small]A[/dropcap]fter being taken down from Kickstarter due to the team behind the creation of Allison Road signing a publishing deal with Team17, it appears that the spiritual successor to Hideo Kojima’s Silent Hill series has been shockingly cancelled.

The sad news was announced on the project’s twitter account saying, “Hi all. Sadly Allison Road had to be cancelled. Statement to come in the next few days. Thx for all your support and very sad it came 2 this” While no one knows for sure just who or what is responsible for the game’s cancellation, a lot of fans believe it was pressure from Konami that forced the studio to cease all work on the project.

It truly is sad news to hear that Allison Road was cancelled, especially since the project had famous horror names like Guillermo del Toro and Junji Ito attached to it. We can only hope that the game will be picked up by Sony and Hideo Kojima.
