Who saw this coming?!
[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]he Jumanji remake has scored a big actor for the cast. Dwayne Johnson broke the news that he would be joining the cast of Jumanji in an Instagram post. He did not say what role he would be playing in his post but he did say that the film will start shooting this fall and that the director will be Jake Kasdan.
Having Johnson on the cast may help with some of the fan backlash with the film. The remake had first been announced after the death of beloved actor, and former Jumanji lead, Robin Williams and created a bit of controversy.
Besides The Rock, Kevin Hart is also targeted to be in the film. There is no word on if Hart will join the cast or not. Hart and Johnson have already filmed a movie together, Central Intelligence, and it would make sense that they may want to team up again, especially for such a beloved classic. However, Hart has a very busy schedule and shooting Jumanji may not fit. Either way it will be interesting to see if Hart will join the cast.
Jumanji is scheduled for a release in July 2017.
