More potential titles have been uncovered for Spidey’s next cinematic venture.
[dropcap size=small]W[/dropcap]e recently got word that Sony had registered a URL domain name for the new Spider-man reboot, suggesting the next venture for our friendly neighbourhood superhero might be named Spider-man: Homecoming. Whilst this heading certainly works, it has emerged that more potential titles have been thrown into the mix.
The news site Ain’t it cool recently reported that BBC news uncovered more domain names registered by Sony for the reboot, hinting at three more possible titles: SpiderManComingOfAgeMovie.com, SpiderManGreatnessAwaitsMovie.com and SpiderManSuspendedMovie.com.
So we could be seeing Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Coming of Age, Spider-Man: Greatness Awaits, or Spider-Man: Suspended. The latter of the four is probably the least favoured of the bunch – it just doesn’t really have as good a ring to it as the rest, but who knows, perhaps it will befit the story and feel of the new movie.
All of the potential titles evoke the youthful edge of the new reboot, and with the young 19 year-old leading man Tom Holland donning the red and blue Spidey suit, it’s not too surprising that they’re going with this angle.
Of course, it could end up be any – or none – of these domain names, but it’s exciting to get a little taster of what might lie ahead for the latest Peter Parker, and his new adventures in the Marvel cinematic universe.
The fact that they’re registering domains could also suggest that we might be getting more reveals about the new project after Captain America: Civil War (hitting theatres 6 May), which will feature the first appearance of Holland’s web-slinger.
Hopefully we’ll get some more developments soon. We’ll just have to wait and see if any of these titles end up fronting Spider-Man’s newest adventure on the big screens.
The Spider-Man Reboot is slated for release 7 July, 2017.
