Earlier this morning, Nintendo held yet another one of their ‘Nintendo Direct’ events which included all kinds of fun announcements. Among all the exciting news, minus the major letdown about the GoldenEye 007 remaster (read all about that here), Nintendo revealed the title of the Breath of the Wild sequel and its release date.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will release on May 12th, 2023. Take a look at the trailer here:
In related news, Nintendo had pulled their livestream of their Nintendo Direct event from the UK, presumably because of the title of this game right here. As you undoubtedly know by now, the Queen passed over the last few days and the title ‘Tears of the Kingdom‘ was probably seen as a little insensitive by Nintendo. However, that won’t stop this from ending up as a typhoon of memes before the end of the day.
While a lot of the reveals from this Nintendo Direct were either disappointing or lackluster, Tears of the Kingdom has Zelda fans more excited than ever. May 12th will be here before you know it.
