We’re putting our money on Darkseid showing up in Justice League.
A little while back, the third trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice launched online to mixed reception.
While some fans loved seeing Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman finally appear in a film together, others felt the trailer revealed way too much of the film’s plot (cough Doomsday cough).
Despite this, Warner Bros. and director Zack Synder remain ever optimistic about the blossoming DC Cinematic Universe, especially for what comes after Dawn of Justice.
In an interview with Observ, Synder hinted at a greater foe (besides Doomsday) that the DC heroes will fight in the upcoming Justice League films (Part 1 coming in late 2017, and Part 2 during summer 2019).
“We’re working on Justice League right now…In a weird way, Justice League is the next step for these characters to form a bigger team. Maybe there’s a bigger enemy to fight.”
Hmm…So who could this bigger enemy be?
Darkseid. Probably Darkseid.
Darkseid is a God that rules the hell-like planet Apokolips. He is one of the most powerful beings in the DC Universe, and a constant foe to the Justice League in the comics.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been teasing us with Thanos the Mad Titan as being the big baddy in Avengers: Infinity War, so we wouldn’t be the surprised in the slightest if Darkseid is the Justice League analog.
Hopefully, the upcoming DC films will have surprises in store for us…and that the Justice League trailers won’t reveal too much.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice comes to theaters on March 25.
