J.J. Abrams is back to working on Star Wars after taking one movie off!
The last time we heard about Episode IX, it was under the working title of Black Diamond, but a new report from Fantha Tracks says that the working title is now trIXie!
The fan site says that the title change is official and “the same research methods and public sources were used by the same team to uncover the production names of every Disney era Star Wars film to date.”
With all of the working titles that get released comes speculation behind what they mean. Fans speculated that Red Cup was the working title of Solo: A Star Wars Story, referencing a solo cup party. Los Alamos was the working title for Rogue One, which was a reference to the birth of the Atomic Bomb and that referred to the building of the Death Star.
As for Episode IX title, the only thing that is obvious about the title is the fact that the roman numerals are highlighted in the title. Outside of that, there really isn’t any major plot line to build off of. Episode IX will be directed by J.J. Abrams, who headed The Force Awakens. Fans have teased the idea of “uniting” all three trilogies into the last movie. But, the untimely death of Carrie Fisher will shake up how Episode IX is told, considering that Leia was still alive at the end of The Last Jedi. Either way, a lot of pressure is being put on this movie after a huge percentage of the fanbase criticized The Last Jedi.
