(Insert snarky Warner Bros./DC comment here)
The DC Extended Universe isn’t in great shape. We don’t need to tell you Man of Steel and Batman v Superman weren’t critically, or commercially, well received. Same goes for the recently released Suicide Squad, but said film perhaps has suffered more than the prior DCEU movies due to alleged behind the scenes drama. Reports have emerged that the production of Suicide Squad was rushed and suffered from corporate interference, making for what many consider to be a “messy” film.
Well, if one disgruntled former Warner Bros. employee is to be believed, the next entry in the DCEU may suffer the same fate.
In an open letter to Warner Bros. Pictures CEO Kevin Tsujihara. posted on Pajiba, an alleged former employee of this company heavily criticized the decisions made by the studio over the last couple years.
The frustrated employee vehemently condemned Tsujihara and his company for business decisions like large-scale layoffs in 2014, and the studio’s unsuccessful output of tent pole films.
Perhaps the most interesting part of this rant was in regards to Wonder Woman, the next DCEU film set to debut next summer. The author asserts that the in-production film is on track to be a “mess,” and suffer the same fate as prior movies in the DCEU.
“What are you even doing? I wish to God you were forced to live out of a car until you made a #1 movie of the year. Maybe Wonder Woman wouldn’t be such a mess. Don’t try to hide behind the great trailer. People inside are already confirming it’s another mess. It is almost impressive how you keep rewarding the same producers and executives for making the same mistakes, over and over.”
This letter has received a lot of attention since it was posted, including that of the director of Wonder Woman, Patty Jenkins.
Jenkins has since responded on Twitter over the allegation made about her film, promising it will not be the “mess” the letter writer claims it will be.
Woah, just saw this press about WW having problems. Are they serious? This is some made up bs right here. Made up! Produce a source, anyone.

Zero about the movie we are making has been called a mess by anyone in the know. Fact.

Real lasso of truth, time, will reveal that letter to be false soon enough. But lame something so transparent in its agenda gets traction.

We don’t know if that letter is actually from a former Warner Bros. employee that would have insight into the state of upcoming productions. We don’t know if Wonder Woman is going to be a “mess.” We do know one thing: the DC Extended Universe isn’t in great shape. As always, remain skeptical, keep an open mind, and maybe even hope that Wonder Woman is something special.
Wonder Woman hits theaters on June 2, 2017.
