Warner Brothers seems to be quite fond of the idea of both Hal Jordan and John Stewart being two separate Green Lanterns appearing in DC’s Justice League.

[dropcap size=small]W[/dropcap]ith the immensely famous and popular San Diego Comic-Con quickly approaching and Marvel Studios being absent from the Hall H proceedings, rumors are pointing towards the DC Convention getting ready to reveal some very exciting news. A full cast listing for the Justice League of America is anticipated to be announced at DC’s convention.
The possible cast for The Justice League will include Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Godot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, (maybe Ray Fisher as Cyborg), and two Green Lanterns. Yep, you read that correctly. There are supposedly going to be two Green Lanterns. The two Green Lanterns are to be the white human, Hal Jordan and the black human John Stewart.
There are many fan theories on how this could be possible. One theory is that John Stewart is the back up/reserve Green Lantern in-case Hal Jordan is terribly injured/killed. Another theory is that both men have been assigned different districts in space and are coming together to fight the good fight. Anything is possible at this point, and you can be sure that more details will be revealed at the San Diego Comic Con.
In addition to this news, it is rumored that Chris Pine is the prime candidate for the role of Hal Jordan. Seeing as how Ryan Reynolds is now a part of the Marvel Universe, Chris Pine is a smart choice. There were rumors pointing towards Chris Pine starring in Wonder Woman but as it turns out, Hal Jordan was actually closing in on the role of Hal Jordan.
Now that we have talked about Hal Jordan, lets address the issue of John Stewart. Both Tyrese Gibson and the actor/musician Common are being considered for the role. Seeing as how Common has landed a role of Suicide Squad it would seem that Tyrese Gibson is the most likely candidate. The actor has done a lot of great work in the Fast and Furious franchise and I’m sure he would fit the role of John Stewart very well. As mentioned before, more news will be announced at the San Diego Comic Con.
Justice League Part 1 will be released some time in 2017.
