DC’s biggest bromance is heading to the big screen.
[dropcap size=small]F[/dropcap]or a while now DC fans have been hoping that either Booster Gold or Blue Beetle would get their own movie or that the dynamic duo would join The CW’s Flash, Arrow, or Legends of Tomorrow. Well we have good news for all of you Blue Beetle and Booster Gold fans, Warner Bros. has given the green light for a movie starring both superheroes.
According to The Tracking Board’s sources, Greg Berlanti, the man behind The CW’s incredibly popular Arrow and Flash series, will be working to direct and executive produce the Booster Gold/Blue Beetle movie. Julia Spiro will oversee the studio and Sarah Schechter will also be executive producing the film as well. According to the sources, the film is going to be a buddy-cop kind of movie that is very comedic, a big change compared to Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
For those of you who don’t know the back story of Booster Gold and Blue Beetle, Booster Gold aka Michael Jon Carter was a football hero and celebrity figure in the 25th century until news got out that he was betting on his own football games. Becoming a public disgrace, the man steals a super-suit and travels back in time with plans to become a superhero.
Blue Beetle, aka college student and genius Ted Kord discovers that his uncle is mad scientist with plans to take over the world with an army of androids. Ted Kord confesses his discovery to one of his professor who just happens to be the original Blue Beetle Dan Garret. Both Ted’s uncle and his professor die in a battle, but before Dan Garret passes away he asks Ted Kord to carry on his legacy as the Blue Beetle. Using his tech-genius Ted Kord fights crime and eventually teams up with Booster Gold. They also eventually join the Justice League.
Supposedly, the two superheroes will be joining a Justice League movie later on in the future. If only we could go into the future to see how well the movie is.
