Mark your calendars, because the movie adaptation to the hit video game Uncharted has finally been set- June 10, 2016. Seth Gordon, The King of Kong: Fist Full of Quarters, Horrible Bosses, will be directing the movie.

While it was originally announced that the film would start shooting in early 2015, it now seems the film may enter production later this year – even though the search to play Nathan Drake is still ongoing. “I want it to be a great actor. That’s number one, and then if it’s someone who has an actual jaw, that’s even better. The game is so well done that you need to live up to that,” said Gordon.

Gordon also said that the movie won’t necessarily follow the game’s storyline. “It’s going to honor the mythology of the game, but I would say honor some of the most interesting stuff from the first one and build from there. There’s some stuff that isn’t in the game.”

A new draft of the script is being worked on by the writers of Disney’s National Treasure franchise – Marianne and Cormac Wibberley.
