EA’s Star Wars projects get a new developer
[dropcap size=small]P[/dropcap]atrick Söderlund, Executive Vice President of EA Studios recently announced on the studio’s website that Respawn Entertainment was currently working on a Star Wars adventure game.
Respawn Entertainment is now a part of several other developers (BioWare, Dice, Visceral Games) tasked with creating Star Wars video projects. No details have been shared about Respawn Entertainment’s game other than the fact that it will be played from a third person perspective.
Respawn Entertainment was founded by Vince Zampella and Jason West, the duo were responsible for the development of the Call of Duty franchise at Infinity Ward prior to 2010 and more recently, Titanfall.
Söderlund goes on to conclude his post by saying
“There’s never been a better time to be a Star Wars fan. The passion we’re seeing for Star Wars from gamers – whether they’ve been along for the ride since Star Wars™: Episode IV: A New Hope™, or were introduced to the magic of Star Wars with Star Wars™: The Force Awakens™ – is fueling our development teams and our partners to create unique interactive extensions of this deep, meaningful universe. As a game maker, nothing is more exciting”
Though Titanfall received mixed reviews from gamers , I doubt it could be any worse than Star Wars Battlefront!
May the fourth be with you all! Check back here for updates and any further developments on the untitled Respawn Star Wars project.
