A trio of legendary comic book speedsters will join Barry Allen in the upcoming season.

[dropcap size=small]E[/dropcap]xecutive producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg confirmed the appearance of three new characters during The Flash‘s brief Comic-Con panel on Saturday. Their names are Jay Garrick, Wally West and Zoom, and they’re all pretty fast.
According to Kreisberg, Zoom will be the season’s major villain, although Grodd and the Rogues will return for multi-episode arcs. Kreisberg also revealed that Zoom will be faster than both the Flash and the Reverse-Flash.
We don’t know from which timeline Zoom will appear, but Garrick and West will come from Earth-Two. I’m very confused by all the timeline stuff, but Earth-Two will have something to do with that god damn hole in the sky. I guess Wally West, Iris’s nephew and the third Flash in the comics, will pop out of it to give his uncle (assuming Barry and Iris are already married in Wally’s timeline) a hand at fighting Zoom.
Jay Garrick was the very first Flash, and he’s never been portrayed in live action, ‘so,’ said Kreisberg, ‘we thought it was interesting to bring on the original Flash and create a brand new relationship for Barry.’ Remember that helmet that came out of the wormhole in the season finale? The one Eobard Thawne recognised as his ‘cue to leave’? That’s Jay Garrick’s. I don’t know what use that fact is to anyone, but it does seem to suggest that Garrick knows about Thawne. Could he be the one to introduce Zoom?
