This week we have the return of a man child, TV sketch comedy gone action movie, and a barbershop.
Pee-wee’s Big Holiday
Oh boy, oh boy; Pee-wee Herman is back and better then ever. Although he is not in his playhouse or on a big adventure, our beloved Pee-wee is still up to his normal antics and gags. In Pee-wee’s Big Holiday, a faithful meeting with a stranger inspires Pee-wee to take the first holiday of his life and embark on an epic adventure. Although not much is known about the movie, it should be a good one for fans and newcomers to the character alike.
Pee-wee’s Big Holiday stars Paul Reubens, Tara Buck, Joe Manganiello, Jessica Pohly, Stephanie Beatriz, and Alia Shawkat and premieres on Netflix on March 18th.
Keanu
Keanu is the beautiful vision of a movie from comedians Key and Peele, who have a popular sketch comedy show on Comedy Central. The movie centers around Peele’s character who after a harsh breakup finds a small adorable cat at his doorstep for him to love and nurture. Unfortunately, his home gets broken into and the cat gets stolen. Now it is up to Key and Peele to go deep under cover as drug dealers into the world of gangs to try and rescue Keanu.
Keanu stars Keegan-Michael Key, Jordan Peele, Method Man, Gabrielle Union, Will Forte, Darrell Britt-Gibson, and Nia Long and hits theaters April 29th.
Barbershop: The Next Cut
It has been 10 years since we have visited Calvin’s Barbershop but I do think it is time for an appointment. Calvin and the crew are still there but there are some new ladies in the shop. Everyone in the shop gets along and jokes with one another but the surrounding community is not in the best of shape. After gang violence sweeps the streets, Calvin and the barbershop come together to not only save their business from destruction, but the entire neighborhood.
Barbershop: The Next Cut stars Ice Cube, Cedric the Entertainer, Regina Hall, Anthony Anderson, Eve, J. B. Smoove, Lamorne Morris, Sean Patrick Thomas, Tyga, Deon Cole, Common, and Nicki Minaj and hits theaters April 15th.
