This week we have a spooky scary sequel, a thriller based around apartments, and Melissa McCarthy.
The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist
All you horror nuts out there better be excited for this. Serving as a sequel to the 2013 film The Conjuring, The Conjuring 2 follows paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren on another one of their supernatural cases. This time, the Warren’s travel to England to try and help Margaret Hodgson and her family, who are victims of an apparent poltergeist. Hopefully James Wan can deliver another terrifying hit.
The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist stars Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Simon McBurney, Franka Potente, and Frances O’Connor and hits theaters June 10th, 2016.
High-Rise
High-Rise is an upcoming British film based on the 1975 novel of the same by J.G. Ballard. The movie is centered around Dr. Robert Laing who lives in a high-rise which is an isolated community cut off from the rest of the world. Laing discovers the complex world within the high-rise and strikes up a relationship with Charlotte, who happens to be the aide of the building’s architect Anthony Royal. Laing also befriends Richard Wilder, a documentary filmmaker who wants to provoke the class injustices in between the people of the building, which causes chaos to break out.
High-Rise stars Tom Hiddleston, Jeremy Irons, Sienna Miller, Luke Evans, Elisabeth Moss, James Purefoy, and Keeley Hawes and hits theaters March 18th, 2016.
The Boss
The Boss is an upcoming comedy starring none other than Melissa McCarthy. McCarthy plays the titular character, Michelle Darnell, who is the richest woman in America. Her entire life changes when she is sent for prison due to accusations of insider trading. When she gets out of jail, she moves in with her former assistant Claire, whose daughter turns her onto the idea of selling brownies with her Girl Scout-esque organization. Darnell brings her industry skills into the brownie selling business and the results are hilarious.
The Boss stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Bell, Peter Dinklage, Annie Mumolo ,Tyler Labine, Kristen Schaal, Margo Martindale, and Kathy Bate and hits theaters April 8th, 2016.
