The Rock and Jason Statham to join in a Fast and Furious Spinoff

The Fate of the Furious was a huge success on the big screen.  This film grossed at $685 million worldwide during the second weekend of its release at theaters.  The success of the previous film encouraged the development of a spin-off that is going to focus more on the characters acted by Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham.  The story involves Luke Hobbs, Johnson’s character, joining forces with Statham’s Decker Shaw for this film.  Chris Morgan will be scripting this new film; however no writing has been done yet.  But there has been a lot of talk about the chemistry displayed between Johnson and Statham as plans are currently being set in motion.
