[dropcap size=small]C[/dropcap]heck out this awesome LEGO Pokémon Center that you will never get to own!
The design concept was submitted by brick builder Savath_Bunny to the LEGO Ideas page for production consideration.
Unfortunately, despite over 1,000+ votes and strong support, LEGO officials have shot the idea down. They explain their decision on the project’s Ideas page, stating:
[dropcap size=small]“[/dropcap]We’ve looked into the possibility of producing a set based on this licensed property (Pokémon). Since the property is owned by a competitor, we’ve decided it’s neither a brand fit nor a strategic fit for the Lego Group to pursue a license, and so we will not consider Pokémon projects on Lego Ideas further. We’re sorry to be the bearers of this disappointing news.”
So basically, LEGO hates you and wants to ruin your holidays (Note: This is merely this author’s conjecture, and do not reflect the opinions of Geek Outpost, nor the opinions of the rest of our staff. Although I’m fairly positive most of us share the same sentiment).
The set, which was hoping to be titled Pikachu’s Pokémon Center, would have included:
- Ash Ketchum
- Misty
- Brock
- Nurse Joy
- Professor Oak
5 Starter Pokémon:
- Pikachu
- Squirtle
- Charmander
- Bulbasaur
- Eevee
