EA and DICE announced Fighter Squadron, the latest multiplayer game mode for Star Wars Battlefront at this year’s Gamescom.

[dropcap size=small]D[/dropcap]uring EA’s press conference at Gamescom 2015, the company showed off a new game mode that features 20-players facing off against each other. The game mode is called Fighter Squadron and judging from the video, it will easily become one of the most popular game modes in Star Wars Battlefront. You can view the video below!
In the video, the battle takes place over Sullust, a planet covered in flowing rivers of magma and volcanoes. The game mode shows an Imperial Shuttle taking off from an Imperial base and heading in the direction of a possible Star Destroyer. It is here that Rebel fighters were called in to take out the Imperial Shuttle at all costs. The video escalates into a variety of dog-fighting between X-Wings, TIE Fighters, TIE Interceptors, and A-Wings. Of course two special space craft made an appearance as well, Han Solo’s Millennium Falcon and Boba Fett’s Slave I Ship debuted.
The video was spectacular, giving everyone an idea of what it will be like for players to fight from the perspective of their vehicle’s combat and the third person view as well. It was also announced that in addition to 20-players facing off against one another, 20 AIs will be involved in the dog fighting as well.
Star Wars Battlefront will be released on November 17th.
