Midna returns in glorious HD.

After multiple leaks and great speculation, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD has been confirmed for the Wii U.

Nintendo officially revealed the game through their Nintendo Direct streamed earlier today. This was the first Direct following the passing of Nintendo president Satoru Iwata.

The port will be co-developed by Australian developer Tantalus, and based on the footage shown in the Direct, the game will be gamepad compatible.

Nintendo also revealed that the game will have robust amiibo support, including all prior Zelda Smash Bros. amiibos (Link, Sheik, Ganondorf, Toon Link, Zelda) as well as a brand new one, Wolf Link.

The Wolf Link amiibo will be released along with the game as a special bundle, which will also include the soundtrack if pre-ordered.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD comes to the Wii U on March 4, 2016.
