[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]he members of Guardians of the Galaxy were virtually a bunch of unknown characters up until a few years ago. However, after their triumphant takeover of the summer box office earning well over half a billion dollars worldwide, it’s safe to say that they have left their mark on pop culture forever. Keeping the spark alive, the latest effort in capitalizing on the Guardians craze will be an animated television series.
Over the weekend, Marvel made the announcement of the series and showed off a bit of test footage to the New York Comic Con crowd. Not much more information was shared aside from the fact that all of the primary characters including Peter Quill/Star Lord, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Drax, and even Thanos are set to feature.

The Guardians of the Galaxy animated series will air next year on Disney XD.
