With 2.5 million copies shipped, Turtle Rock Studios’ Evolve is doing very well. So well in fact, Turtle Rock has promises plenty of new content.
[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]he last game that Turtle Rock Studios developed was Left 4 Dead, and the franchise has sold over twelve million copies. With a track record like that it isn’t surprising that their latest game, Evolve, is doing so well.
Evolve is a multiplayer shooter that was originally titled Metamorphosis. Take-Two Interactive purchased the game from THQ for $10.89 million when the company went bankrupt back in 2013. The game was released to a closed beta on Xbox One and received fairly good reviews from players and critics alike.
Evolve features four hunters who face off against a single, evolving monster that is controlled by an opposing player. Both sides do their best to eliminate each other to the best of their abilities. Evolve won five Gamescon 2014 awards including Best Console Games. And with being nominated multiple awards, its no surprise that the game will continue to experience strong sales.
According to Strauss Zelnick, who is the CEO of Take-Two Interactive and parent publisher of Evolve, the demand for the game’s extensive DLC offerings has been strong. With news like that, you wonder if there is an Evolve 2 in the works? We’ll have to wait until E3 to find out.
Evolve is available on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC.
