Krypton aims to explain the story behind Superman’s family and the destruction of his home world.
[dropcap size=small]A[/dropcap]fter over a year and a half of rumors and writing, Syfy has given David S. Goyer’s Krypton the green light. David S. Goyer co-wrote Warner Bros. and DC Comics’ Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and it has yet to be confirmed if the show will be in the same universe as the Warner Bros. film Man of Steel.
Joining David S. Goyer in bringing Krypton to life is the Australian-born, television show writer Damian Kindler who is responsible shows like Syfy’s Sanctuary and FOX’s Sleepy Hollow. Damian Kindler will be executive producing Krypton in addition to being the showrunner. Colm McCarthy (Peaky Blinders) will be directing Krypton‘s pilot episode.
Krypton will take place two hundred years before the events of Man of Steel and will follow Superman’s grandfather who’s House of El has been ostracized and shamed. Kal-El’s grandfather hopes to redeem his house’s honor and save Krypton from destruction and mayhem.
