“I’m known to be quite vexing, I’m just forewarning you.”
The second official trailer for the latest entry in the DC Extended Universe, Suicide Squad, is here.
Check it out below.
Like the first trailer, this latest teaser is also rhythmically cut to music, only now there’s two songs: the recent hit “You Don’t Own Me” by Grace, and the classic “The Ballroom Blitz” by Sweet.
Also, despite earlier reports that every joke in the movie was in the first trailer, we were caught off guard by a couple lighter moments in this trailer, like the bar scene towards the end.
The film follow a task force of villains (Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Killer Croc, Katana, Captain Boomerang, among others), who exchange their service in a deadly mission for years off their life sentences. This trailer still doesn’t dive into what this mission is exactly, but the swamp monster goons the Squad are fighting in the trailer make seem as though the Enchantress (Cara Delevingne) is the film’s main antagonist.
Plus, we got another glimpse at Ben Affleck’s Batman, who seems to be in at least more than one scene. Not to mention, a few new shots of Jared Leto’s Joker.
The movie will be directed by David Ayer (Fury), and stars Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, and Viola Davis.
Warner Bros. and DC have been knocking it out of the park with these trailers, especially considering the fun music-driven vibes are so refreshing after Batman v Superman.
Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 5.
