Steve Jobs Biopic Gets Official Trailer

The trailer stars a completely unrecognisable Michael Fassbender as the founder and CEO of Apple Inc.

[dropcap size=small]U[/dropcap]niversal has given us our first look at Danny Boyle’s Steve Jobs. Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire) is teaming up with screenwriter Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network) in an effort to erase all memory of Joshua Michael Stern’s 2013 attempt at a Jobs biopic, which starred Ashton Kutcher in the titular role and did not go down well.

Steve Wozniak, the Apple co-founder who’s played by Seth Rogen in the film, has mixed feelings towards the trailer. ‘I don’t talk that way,’ he said of the initial dialogue between Wozniak (Rogen) and Jobs (Fassbender), ‘The lines I heard spoken were not things I would say, but they carried the right message.’ Wozniak always expected the film to take creative liberties, and that he ‘felt a lot of the real Jobs in the trailer, although a bit exaggerated.’

Wozniak, who met with Sorkin before the script was written, did reiterate how honored he is to be portrayed by an actor of Rogen’s popularity, and that he is looking forward to the film, which is already tipped to win Boyle another Oscar. If that isn’t enough to get you excited, take a look at the trailer.

Steve Jobs hits US theaters on October 9th.
