The female lead for the hit crime drama will return for an eighth season.
[dropcap size=small]S[/dropcap]tana Katic plays the female lead Kate Beckett in hit ABC drama Castle. Until recently, it was unsure whether or not Katic would be returning for the newly green-lighted season 8 of the show. But to the pleasure of the fans, Katic has confirmed she will be returning. Her new deal comes after the show announced some major changes with the production team. Former show writers Terence Paul Winter and Alexi Hawley are taking over as co-showrunners, who will replace David Amann. Amann will not be returning for season 8.
Katic took to Twitter to make the announcement of her return.
Katic’s deal comes shortly after her co-star, Nathan Fillion, who plays Richard Castle, signed his deal stating he would be returning for season 8.
Castle season 8 is set to premiere on a TBD date in 2015.
