Yep. It’s just called Spider-Man. I think.
This year’s Sony E3 press conference concluded with an extra-long look at Insomniac’s upcoming Spider-Man game, and our first glimpse at gameplay.
Check it out below.
The demo sees Spider-Man taking out a handful of Kingpin’s thugs in a construction site, leading to a near Fast and Furious level stunt sequence of Spidey pursuing a helicopter with a crate dangling from his web like a wrecking ball.
While very cutscene and quick time event heavy, the demo did show a Spidey’s fighting abilities…which looked very similar to the Batman Arkham series. However, there was really neat environmental takedowns, as the player can shoot their web at cranes or walls to slam or strike at foes.
It was a very long demo, and maybe wasn’t the best way to the end the show, but the game still looks like a ton of fun…we just have to wait till next year to play it.
And wait a minute…
Was that Miles Morales at the end of the trailer!?!
Never mind, it was a good way to end the show.
Spider-Man swings onto the PS4 in 2018.
