Even though bikini season has ended, that didn’t stop one Star Wars fan from ‘taking home the gold’.

[dropcap size=small]E[/dropcap]arlier this month, US firm Profiles in History held an online auction with several notable Star Wars items, including the famous Princess Leia slave outfit.

The opening price for the iconic outfit was a mere $80,000, but the winner ended with a closing bid of $96,000. But surprisingly, the highest price at the auction was a miniature model of Princess Leia’s “Blockade Runner”, also known as an Alderaan cruiser or CR90 Corvette, sold for $450,000!

The ‘gold bikini’ is actually a “flexible, gold-painted red dense-urethane rubber”, but that didn’t stop it from a pretty penny. The slave outfit was worn by Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia when she was held captive by the slug-like crime lord Jabba the Hutt.

Along with the bikini, the unnamed winner also received a collar, several chain links, and a letter of authenticity from Star Wars designer Richard Miller.

Be sure to watch Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia in the upcoming movie, Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens in theatres on December 18, 2015.
