It was the news that Dennis Villeneuve was going to direct Blade Runner 2 that convinced Ryan Gosling to sign on for the film.

Yes, we know that we are finally getting a sequel to Ridley Scott’s immensely popular sci-fi movie that hit theaters over thirty years ago, but other than that we don’t know much. But what we do know is that Ryan Gosling broke the news that he would star in the film along side Harrison Ford while being interviewed by Collider.
If you’re looking for major details regarding the film I’m sorry to tell you that you won’t be getting any. Ryan Gosling was very tight-lipped about the whole thing in his interview and only said that the news of Denis Villeneuve directing the film and Roger Deakins taking on the role as cinematographer encourage him to accept the role. He said, “there’s a chip in me and if I say anything more I’ll explode if I say anything else.”
