Russell Crowe already has a history of getting angry off set so this role is perfect for him.
[dropcap size=small]I[/dropcap]f there is one thing we all know about Russell Crowe its that the man is prone to throwing temper tantrums and can somehow still be an incredible actor. In Gladiator, Russel Crowe threatened to kill a producer with his own bare hands but went on to win an Oscar for Best Actor and the film itself won a total of seven Oscars. So maybe the guy will be able to channel his anger issues into the role of Dr. Jekyll? After all, no one likes Russell Crowe when he is angry.
Just where Russell Crowe’s Dr. Jekyll fits into the plot of The Mummy remains to be seen. Sure, there is a resurrected mummy that wants to dominate/decimate the human race but just as to where a doctor who turns into a Hulk-like creature would fit into the plot is rather confusing. Perhaps the film will dabble into all sorts of mythical monsters and branch from there? Who knows, let’s just hope it isn’t a complete disaster like the previous The Mummy film.
