Could the director of Alien finally be the answer DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. has been looking for?
[dropcap size=small]W[/dropcap]ith Ben Affleck stepping down as director Warner Bros. reacted as quickly as they could to keep the ball rolling on the project. Despite rumors that the actor also doesn’t even want to star in a Batman solo film, it appears that Warner Bros. may have found a replacement in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves. However, there is another rumor circulating that the one and only Ridley Scott has been viewed as a possible choice.
While it does seem rather unlikely due to Ridley Scott claiming ‘I’d have a f**king good story, as opposed to no story!’ when it comes to a Batman film it could still be possible. The director has stated many times that he is uninterested with the genre that is comic book superhero-related, but he also claims that his Blade Runner universe is similar to the themes that are present in comic book films. No doubt many fans of both Ridley Scott’s work and those of Batman would love to see the man put his own special touch on a superhero film but as of right now the only thing we can do is hope.
