‘Prometheus 2’ will be Ridley Scott’s Next Film

20th Century still has yet to official announce the film though.

One of the busiest directors in Hollywood is Ridley Scott, who has consistently been working on films for over 30 years.

It appears that Mr. Scott is continuing to uphold a busy schedule, as he confirmed that his next film will be Prometheus 2.

In an interview with Empire magazine, Matt Damon, the lead in Scott’s latest film, The Martian, talked on the director’s eagerness to start new projects.

“Ridley was done with the movie about two weeks after we shot!” Damon exclaimed.

Scott responded to Damon by saying, “I was already on to my next movie! I was starting to look for locations for my next movie, which is Prometheus 2.”

Check out the trailer for Scott’s latest film, The Martian, below.

Earlier this month, Scott revealed Prometheus 2 will start filming in January, and now with this report, it does indeed look like we’ll be seeing the film sooner than later.

However, it doesn’t seem like anyone has told the film’s distributor, as 20th Century Fox has yet to schedule the film, or even formally announce it.

While it is more than possible that Fox is waiting to make any announcements regarding the film’s release date, it is a bit sketchy that Scott is the only one discussing a Prometheus sequel .

The first Prometheus was released in 2012. The film was a pseudo-prequel to Scott’s Alien, and was met with positive reception, although many criticized the film’s occasionally illogical script. (Seriously though, what does that black goo do?)

So is Prometheus 2 happening? Scott sure thinks so. Will we see it soon? Hopefully. Again, few directors can crank out movies like he can.
