Don’t worry, what happens in LEGO Dimensions stays in LEGO Dimensions.
[dropcap size=small]Y[/dropcap]ou could say that LEGO Dimensions is the best of not both worlds, but multiple worlds. LEGO Dimensions takes what we love about so many games and mashes it up into one game that encompasses all of that, especially when Portal is involved. However, for you die-hard Portal fans you don’t have to worry about LEGO Dimensions having an effect on the main story set by Portal.
Truth be told, Valve was approached about use of Portal in LEGO Dimensions and then they were also consulted about having a Portal section of the game. However, this is where Valve’s role in LEGO Dimensions’ Portal section of the game completely ends. From here the gameplay, dialog and plot were in the hands of TT Games.
“As with the other IPs, I think it might be better categorized as ‘inspired by’ the original IP (or in the same vein as) instead of ‘being canonical,'” a Valve spokesperson told Polygon.
Cool your jets Portal fans, GLaDOS is untouched by LEGO Dimensions. Even though she made a killer entrance in the Portal trailer.
