Pokemon Sword and Shield Players Can Get Free PokeBalls via Mystery Gift

Now through January 15th, players can receive 9 unique PokeBalls with special effects via Mystery Gift.

If you have been making your way through the Gym Challenge, chances are you have seen the weird guy with the PokeBall head. The Ball Guy, as he is called, hands out unique Poke Balls if you just talk to him for a second. And now, Ball Guy is willing to give you some extra special PokeBalls, 3 balls each per code (3 codes for 9 total Balls), through the Mystery Gift system. Take a look at the codes below.

Below are the steps to access the Mystery Gift System as well as a comprehensive list of effects for each Ball, some of which you may have seen in the game already while others may have been missed.

  1. Select Mystery Gift from the menu screen
  2. Select Get a Mystery Gift
  3. Select Get Gift via Code/Password
  4. Follow the prompts to connect online
  5. Input the download code when prompted
  • Beast Ball: Has a high success rate against Ultra Beasts but a low success rate against other Pokemon
  • Dream Ball: Better at catching sleeping Pokemon
  • Fast Ball: Better at catching Pokemon that flee
  • Friend Ball: Makes the Pokemon you catch more friendly toward you
  • Heavy Ball: Better at catching heavy Pokemon
  • Level Ball: Better at catching lower level Pokemon
  • Love Ball: Better at catching Pokemon that are the opposite gender of yours
  • Lure Ball: Better at catching Pokemon you fish up
  • Moon Ball: Better at catching Pokemon that evolve by Moon Stone

Additionally, you can also pick up a Gigantamax Meowth through the Mystery Gift system but you won’t need a code. All you gotta do is purchase a copy of the game before Wednesday, January 15th and access the Mystery Gift and it should be immediately ready for download. How about that?
