Gwyneth Paltrow may be returning to bring some Pepper to the table in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
[dropcap size=small]P[/dropcap]epper Potts hasn’t been seen in the MCU since 2013’s Iron Man 3. Rumours circulated that she may feature in Civil War prior to the film’s release, but after the movie concluded with no Potts appearance (other than Stark’s mention of their break-up), fans have been wondering if the third instalment of Tony Stark’s adventures would be the last we’d see of Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper.
Well, there may still be hope yet to see Potts reappear on the big screens.
The next big Marvel movie to hit theatres will be Spider-Man: Homecoming, which will see our new web-slinger Tom Holland as Peter Parker for the first time since his cameo in Civil War. We know Tony Stark will be showing up alongside Parker this summer, and now – according to the movie rumour website Lainey Gossip (via Newsarama) – Pepper may be joining in too.
So far there has been no definite confirmation of Paltrow’s involvement, but the word is Sony is able to bring back Potts since they’re willing to foot the bill for Gwyneth’s potential cameo.
If Potts does reappear, we can easily imagine seeing an awkward exchange between Potts and Stark given that their long-time romance has come to an end – especially since we’ve already seen Stark being pretty flirtatious with Aunt May in Civil War. Ooh.
I spy a potential love triangle.
With some big Marvel titles coming up, it’s interesting to hear Potts may be back in Homecoming. If you asked me, I would’ve banked on seeing her return in Infinity War over Homecoming, but we’ll just have to wait and see if Pepper does, in fact, pop up to lend Spidey a hand this July.
Spider-Man: Homecoming will be slinging its way to the big screens July 7.
