Apparently this was the droid they were looking for!

Auctions are always filled with fun and interesting items that normally fetch incredibly high prices. In a recent auction put on by auction house Profiles in History an R2D2, that had been made using parts compiled from other R2D2’s that appeared in the original trilogy, was sold for $2.43 million. The final price exceeded the pre-auction estimate and ended up being the most expensive item sold that night.

Other high priced items that were sold were Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber from the first two films, which sold for $450,000, Darth Vader’s helmet from the first Star Wars film, which sold for $96,000, and a helmet that was worn by the deceased Bill Paxton in the original Aliens for $51,000. That seems like a good night for sci-fi fans!
