“Blood in the gutters and corruption on the wind. It’ll be fun watching this unfold.”
[dropcap size=small]B[/dropcap]ethesda has just announced the highly anticipated Dishonored 2 is set to be released November 11 this year on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
The release date is slightly later than their originally planned Spring 2016 release, but Bethesda has announced some tasty morsels of the game are set to be revealed to us this June during their E3 showcase:
The world premiere of Dishonored 2 gameplay will take place during Bethesda’s 2016 E3 Showcase being held in Los Angeles, California, on June 12 beginning at 7pm PST, and streamed live around the world via Twitch and YouTube.
Arkane Studio’s already revealed the Dishonored sequel will allow players to choose between two protagonists at last year’s E3. The choice offers up both a male and female option, who come in the shape of the previous game’s hero, Corvo Attano, or – rather interestingly – his daughter, Emily Kaldwin.
Both characters will have different powers, which will offer up alternate game-play experiences for players. The choice between the two is sure to give us unique perspectives into the going’s on of Dishonroed 2, and change up the feel of the way in which we interact with the story.
The game will be set 15 years after its predecessor, and takes place in Corvo’s birthplace of Karnaca – which looks decidedly more sunny and tropical in comparison to Dishonored’s Dunwall setting.
The first official trailer saw the return of the mysterious, omnipotent, power-giving figure known as ‘The Outsider,’ who gave Corvo his powers in Dishonored. The figure is said to be the main source of magical, supernatural power in the Dishonored ‘verse, and after playing such a key role in the first game, it’ll be interesting to see how they fit into the events of the second.
It’s great to finally get a release date for what is looking to be one of the most promising releases of 2016.
You can catch more about the game during Bethesda’s E3 showcase on June 12th, beginning at 7pm PST.
