At least PokĂ©mon is coming this year.Â
Early this morning, Nintendo released their annual fiscal earnings, and with it, news about their upcoming console and games.Â
The biggest news from the report was that their mysterious new console, the NX, will launch worldwide in March 2017. It was reconfirmed that this gaming platform will be a “brand-new concept.”Â
Nintendo also revealed that “NX will not make an appearance at the upcoming E3 video game trade show in Los Angeles in June and will be unveiled later this year.”Â
While we’re still unclear if this means the new console won’t even appear in the company’s inevitable Nintendo Direct held during E3, this news certainly doesn’t bode well for a company with a sparse lineup of games on both of their platforms, not to mention, their reported loss of 61% of profits this year alone.Â
Well, Nintendo does have one ace up their sleeve, as it was confirmed that The Legend of Zelda for Wii U will be the focus point of this year’s E3, and to no one’s surprise, the game is also coming to NX.Â
But…the game is delayed (again) till 2017.Â

Overall, this is all fairly disappointing news. The fact that Nintendo aren’t going to launch the NX this year, coupled with their unwillingness to share details until who knows when is extremely frustrating, not to mention the delay of Zelda.Â
However, if this extra time means we’re getting an incredible new console, and a phenomenal new game, we can’t be too upset then.Â
