Earlier this morning, Nintendo took their various socials to cover some pretty cool announcements of upcoming releases coming to the Nintendo Switch console over the next year or so. From The Metal Gear Solid Master Collection, a visually enhanced version of Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, to a solo Princess Peach game, a lot of really great content was announced.
For us, the biggest reveal was that of the Super Mario RPG Remake which includes upgraded graphics to a more modern style in the same way Link’s Awakening got the remake treatment.
Take a look at the trailer and see why we are excited:
Super Mario RPG is up now for pre-order and releases this fall on November 17, 2023.

Another big announcement was the Metal Gear Sold: Master Collection which includes a huge amount of content. Notice that the collection is being referred to as “Vol. 1”, which suggests that we will eventually get more Metal Gear titles on the Switch eventually.
- Metal Gear Solid
- Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
- Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
- Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake
- Metal Gear and Snake’s Revenge NES Ports
The collection also contains graphic novels and a bunch of other additional content like strategy guides, character bios, and more. Pre-orders are live now and the collection releases this fall on October 24, 2023.

Another Mario title, Super Mario Bros. Wonder was another title that got us excited. A 3D-style sidescroller that appears to be full of charm and everything we love about Mario titles with some really cool visuals and impressive gameplay enhancements. The game comes out this fall on October 20, 2023.

WarioWare: Move It! is a new game featuring a bunch of microgames that we don’t really care about but you may feel differently.
_________
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the disappointing “open-world” titles for Switch also got a new DLC trailer. Though we aren’t interested all that much.

The Direct was packed full of even more goodies like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s Booster Course Pass which adds more characters to the game, Vampire Survivors which will add a local co-op experience, and Pikmin 1 and 2 which will be available today for digital purchase only ahead of the release of Pikmin 4 which releases next month. And then, of course, there is the enhanced version of Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon coming next year.

And last but not least, Nintendo also revealed that a new Detective Pikachu title, Detective Pikachu Returns, is releasing on the Switch this October 6th. Unfortunately, Pikachu will not be voiced by Ryan Reynolds.
