Have you ever wondered where those damn swear words come from? Don’t worry, Nicholas Cage in his finest glory, as the answers. Debuting in January 2021, History of Swear Words will dive into the most naughty and explicit words we use over the course of six episodes.

The show will feature historians, etymologists, and entertainers like Joel Kim Booster, Open Mike Eagle, Nikki Glaser, Patti Harrison, Jim Jefferies, Nick Offerman, Sarah Silverman, Baron Vaughn, and Isiah Whitlock Jr.

You can watch the first official clip for the show below.

Netflix’s official synopsis for the show is as follows:

An education in expletives: the history lesson you didn’t know you needed. History of Swear Words, hosted by Nicolas Cage, is a loud and proudly profane series that explores the origins, pop culture-usage, science and cultural impact of curse words. Through interviews with experts in etymology, pop culture, historians and entertainers, the six-episode series dives into the origins of “F**k”, “Sh*t”, “B*tch”, “D**k”, “Pu**y”, and “Damn”.

History of Swear Words arrives 5 January, 2021 on Netflix.
