The challenges don’t involve just those just in Chicago! Check it out here!
[dropcap size=small]F[dropcap]or weeks, we have waited to see what fans would be able to do in Chicago for Pokemon GO Fest. Yesterday, Niantic revealed that in a tweet that not only involved those that would be at the event, but everyone that played Pokemon GO.

According to the chart above, certain Pokemon will have to be caught during certain time frames in order to achieve specific catch challenges that will not only benefit those trainers in Chicago, but trainers globally.
There will be three Challenge Windows that trainers will have to complete these objectives. The first objective involves catching the six types of Pokemon listed above within three half-hour periods in the day. Although there is no specific number that trainers have to catch to achieve the number, there are placement medals for how much each bonus will be extended for after the three periods end.
While those in Chicago will be able to enjoy all that Niantic has to offer, trainers everywhere else can still participate at home by catching the types of Pokemon during the Catch Challenge windows that those in Chicago are completing. No matter what team you’re on, trainers should do what they can to complete these challenges in order to get the Mystery Challenge.
The big question from this whole event (after this update from Niantic) is what will the Mystery Challenge entail? Perhaps officially releasing the Legendary Raids? Although Niantic has said that Legendary Raids will be coming soon, it is possible that this challenge could bring Legendary Pokemon to the world!
Regional Pokemon look to also be at Chicago, along with the Unknown. The picture down below shows a Kangaskhan in the bottom left and an Unknown on the top right. Even though this is a map picture of Europe, I don’t see why Niantic would release regionals and Unknowns only to Europe GO Fest.
GO Fest in Chicago isn’t the only Pokemon GO event being held this summer, although it is the only one in the U.S. The other events are as follows:
