A New Live Action ‘Star Wars’ Series ‘The Acolyte’ Will Be Set During the High Republic Era

It's set roughly 200 years before the prequel series.

RussianDoll co-creator Leslye Headland is creating a new live-action Star Wars series for Disney+ set during a renaissance era of the Jedi. Previous reports said the series will have a strong female-led cast with martial arts elements as well.

Star Wars made the official announcement below.

Headland herself had this to say about the project:

“I would say it’s in a pocket of the universe and a pocket of the timeline that we don’t know much about. I kind of see, if Star Wars is a religion. I like to think of my show as a tent revival. You can come over if you want to. We’re going to be talking about some cool stuff. There’s going to be some things we haven’t discussed in the canon yet. There are going to be some characters you don’t know about.”

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.
