Affleck’s good-standing relationship with Warner Bros. could have him locked in for a Batman Trilogy!
[dropcap size=small]D[/dropcap]uring this summer’s Comic-Con, we learned that Ben Affleck will star in a Batman movie that he will also direct! DC Comics Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns will work with Affleck in writing the script for the movie. Warner Bros. has not made it official that this new Batman movie will be made, but over the weekend, Warner Bros. pushed Affleck’s next two movies back, which would make room for his Batman movie.
According to Den of Geek, Warner Brother’s screening of Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice in front of the movie’s crew and executives did very well and received a standing ovation! It also inspired Warner Bros. to sign Affleck for future projects. According to an insider, Warner Bros. is “working their movie universe around Ben’s Batman.”
Affleck is signed on for 2017 and 2019 to appear in the Justice League movies. Between those two years, Warner Bros. wants to put Affeck’s solo Batman movie in 2018. If a Batman trilogy were to actually happen, there would be movies in 2020 and 2022! That’s crazy to think that this is being thought of 5 to 7 years before, even though the first Batman movie has yet to be confirmed!
Affleck has had a good-working relationship with Warner Brothers, with past work between the two, including The Town and Argo.
Affleck will make his debut as The Caped Crusader on March 25th, 2016 in Superman vs. Batman: Dawn of Justice!
