There are talks of having up to 3 different live-action Star Wars shows!
[dropcap size=small]S[/dropcap]ince Netflix started producing original content for those to stream, they have increased in the amount of streamers that have subscribed to the network. Some of the best shows produced by Netflix include House of Cards, Orange is the New Black and Daredevil. Now, there are talks of getting live-action TV shows for Star Wars!
The last time we heard of this idea was in March when Disney first brought up the idea of a live-action Star Wars show. Disney/Lucasfilm are filling their schedule up so far that they even announced the release date for the second Star Wars: Anthology movie, which doesn’t come out until 2018! Now, Disney wants to partner up with Netflix for these Star Wars shows. There are as many as three different TV shows that are being discussed, similar to Marvel’s plan with Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist.
I believe that the success of Daredevil, there is potential for other shows to have success and with the seventh Star Wars movie coming out this year, Disney/Lucasfilm wants to extend Star Wars content to more than just the movie series. Also, the fact that online streaming is taking over TV broadcasting makes this more realistic than Disney/Lucasfilm going to a broadcast company.
For now, there is no update on what the shows will be about or who will be in them. But Netflix has worked with Disney/Lucasfilm before when they helped produced the final season of the animated series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars!
