[dropcap size=small]C[/dropcap]haracters from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away have arrived in a sandbox near you thanks to a Star Wars skin pack for the immensely popular Minecraft game released exclusively for Xbox One and Xbox 360. Microsoft (the proud new owner of the Minecraft series) made the announcement via the Microsoft Studios Blog and revealed that there are a total of 55 skins now available as DLC for $2.99 in the Xbox Store.
The skins are classic characters from A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi, so don’t expect to see characters from the Prequel Trilogy just yet. So if you want to mine as Dexter Jettster (you know, the short order cook who’s an informant for Obi-Wan in Attack of the Clones…seriously, what was going on in Episode II?), then you’ll have to holster your lightsaber and wait for some more DLC. Check out the full list of skins from the Holy Original Trilogy below.

Microsoft then teased that “fans can look forward to even more downloadable Star Wars content releasing in the future.” Since Disney acquired Lucasfilm, the company has made it clear that it will use the Star Wars brand in any medium where it will garner success and right now, they are giving the people what they want: more and more Star Wars. So take a break from watching the trailer for The Force Awakens on repeat and start mining!
Which characters are you looking forward to playing as? Let us know! And if your answer is a wampa, steer clear of Hoth Luke. He won’t think twice about slicing off that pixelated arm of yours.
