Have you Heard? Amber looks the part as Mera! (I’m sorry)
[dropcap size=small]D[/dropcap]C’s Justice League is arguably going to be one of the biggest upcoming releases for the franchise, and after the rather lacklustre reviews both Suicide Squad and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice suffered, the film is under more pressure than ever to deliver.
As such, Warner Bros. has been steadily releasing news about the project to slowly build up the Justice League hype train. After the first trailer hit at Comic Con 2016 – which gave us our first proper look at The Flash, Cyborg and Aquaman – we’ve now been given our first look at Amber Heard as Mera.
Check it out below:

Heard certainly paints an impressive picture as the Queen of Atlantis, who we’ll be meeting in more depth in the upcoming Aquaman solo film, starring Jason Mamoa (due for release in 2018).
In the comics, Mera is a bonafide badass and is easily one of the most powerful women in the DC universe. As the Queen of Atlantis, she ruled the seven seas alongside Aquaman as his wife, and has the ability to manipulate and control water, as well as super strength and durability.
Director Zach Snyder is back to direct the film, which will see most of the DC figures join forces thanks to Ben Affleck’s Batman, and Gal Gadot’s Wonderwoman. The pair work together to team up with The Flash (Ezra Miller), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), Aquaman (Jason Mamoa) and Mera (Amber Heard), in order to face off against the villainous Steppenwolf.
The trailer was very promising and Heard certainly looks the part, so if this keeps up, Justice League could very well be the big hit DC needs to win more favour with its fans.
Justice League is set for release 17 November, 2017.
