The first details of the game have finally been released!

[dropcap size=small]O[/dropcap]ther than the fact that the game has been announced, we don’t know much more about Mass Effect: Andromeda. But thanks to a survey on Reddit and user NeoGAF, we have some leaked information with game notes about the nature of the game’s map.

In this game, the human race is looking for an inhabitable planet to live on after things go wrong on Earth.

“Mass Effect: Andromeda takes players to the Andromeda galaxy, far beyond the Milky Way, where players will lead the fight for a new home in hostile territory – where WE are the aliens – opposed by a deadly indigenous race bent on stopping us.”

In the game, the survey explains that players experience the freedom to traverse and explore a planet-dense but seamless open-world galaxy, rich with discovery,” and that we’ll “play as the leader of a squad of military-trained explorers in an intense third-person shooter with deep progression and customization systems.”

The best part that we learned from this is that while looking at a ship landing in a cutscene is cool, doing it manually would be even better. In No Man’s Sky, you can pilot your ship from space to the planet seamlessly. So EA may try to implement that into this game as well.

Down below are images of the Pathfinder armor for the game’s first images. The armor was modeled by BioWare lead character artist Herbert Lewis.

Mass Effect: Andromeda will be available on all current platforms and is set to be released early in 2017!
