Pokemon fans will get to customize their very own Pikachu coming in 2016.
For nearly 20 years, kids across the globe have been able to build their own stuffed animal with customized clothing at Build-A-Bear Workshops. I know as a child that my “Build-A-Bear” was my favorite stuffed animal. Despite the higher cost of these stuffed animals, Build-A-Bear has seen great success to this day with children and adults alike. However, now us nerds can rejoice as well because not only do they customize bears and animals, but they are now announcing a Pokemon Build-A-Bear!
Next year, Pokemon fans will be able to customize their very own stuffed Pikachu at the Build-A-Bear Workshop. Customization options released include but are not limited to a Poke Ball hoodie, a Charizard costume, and a sound chip that plays back the famous “pika pika” sound Pikachu makes in the Pokemon TV show. Along with the purchase of the Pokemon Build-A-Bear, consumers will receive a special branded Pokemon Trading Card as well.
Unfortunately it won’t be available until after the holiday season. My advice is to save the cash you get as gifts so you can buy one of these bad boys when they arrive in the new year. No pictures of the Pikachu have been released, but other popular characters have been used by Build-A-Bear in the past such as TMNT characters, Peanuts characters, and Disney/Pixar characters as well. Save up your money folks because this will be a must have for Pokemon fans across the globe.
