The series will focus on how Agent Bryan Mills obtained his “particular set of skills!”

[dropcap size=small]E[/dropcap]veryone has heard of Bryan Mills with the “particular set of skills that make him a nightmare” for those who oppose him. Director Luc Bessan is now planning a prequel series for how Bryan Mills obtained all of the skills that he has.

The series will feature a young Bryan Mills before he was married and it will bend time as it will not be set decades ago, but more in modern day. Bessan will be an executive producer along with Gross and France-based EuropaCorp co-chairs Edouard de Vesinne and Thomas Anargyros.

Search is still underway for a writer/showrunner, but NBC has already agreed to broadcast the series on their network. The series will be a co-production between Bessen’s studio EuropaCorp and Universal TV. The two companies will be in a 50/50 partnership with the Taken series, with Universal TV taking care of international distribution everywhere except France where EuropaCorp will handle it there.

Taken was the first film of many that EuropaCorp developed in the US by their Los Angeles-based operation, EuropaCorp Television U.S., which is run by president Matthew Gross. These projects don’t use EuropaCorp’s European model, so the American series will be sold to U.S. networks first.
