Kevin Smith’s agent gave the executive producer of The Flash a call to ask and see if there was any chance for Kevin to direct an episode of this upcoming season. Andrew Kreisberg, executive producer of The Flash told how this all came to be:
“I literally got a phone call from his agent saying the Kevin Smith’s favorite show is The Flash, and if there was an episode for him, and the answer was yes. It was really that simple. I didn’t know him personally, I’ve just been such a huge fan of his work.”
He continued by flashing his knowledge of Smiths work, projects such as Dogma and he was big on Reaper which Smith directed the pilot of. Kreisberg went of to say this:
“As responsible executive producers, we always have to look at that, but we would never look at that at the expense of our own show. Knowing what a fan he is, and knowing the scrutiny he’s going to be under, i know he’s going to bring it to his fullest, and I’m just so excited.”
Sounds like the man running the show is very excited to have Kevin Smith on board for this season.
