Singer, song-writer, Kanye West has done it all. He’s conquered the music world, jumped into the fashion world, and has appeared on film and television. Now, Yeezus is adding ‘game developer’ to his résumé.
[dropcap size=small]I[/dropcap]n a recent interview on Power 105.1’s ‘The Breakfast Club’, West made a brief mention that in addition to his new album and promotional work, he is also currently working on a video game based on one of his songs:
“Right now I’m working on a video game for Only One, and the idea is that it’s my mother going through the gates of heaven and you have to bring her to the highest gates of heaven by holding her to the light,” West said. “We’ve been working on it for like six months.“
‘Only One’ is a song that West dedicated to his mother, who passed away in 2007. So now the late Mrs. West will not only be immortalized in song, but also in what is likely to be a mobile game, In which you can pay your respects by downloading it from iTunes and make some in-app purchases (maybe you can change the color of Donda West’s halo or something).
While it hasn’t been revealed what platform the game will be released on, I ‘ll put my money on mobile— and by “put my money on”, what I really mean is, “I’m not spending any money on this.”
West’s wife Kim Kardashian made headlines a while back with the release of her mobile game Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, which generated over $200 million last year through in-app purchases and over $80 million in profits for the adult film star turned pseudo-celeb. This… Is… Baffling…
Stop spinning, world. I wanna get off.
